In the Fall of 2001, in an old theater located at was once Saint Clair Junior High School, two one-act plays were presented. From those humble and meager beginnings, a wonderful tradition has grown at Marine City High School. Fourteen years later, Mariner Drama has challenged itself to become a drama company that is NOT only focused on presenting quality productions, but more importantly, we have continued to strive to become a group that is more concerned with what is gained during the "JOURNEY" to the performance weekend than ONLY putting on "good shows."
While we want audiences to see high-quality performances and amazing set-pieces, we desire MORE for them to see a group that is truly a "FAMILY." During the months leading up to a performance weekend, cliques are broken and new friendships are born during the long but fun hours of rehearsal and set-building. And we hope that our students' families and friends also feel a part of this "family."
Family. That's what we strive to be, and like most families, we know we're not perfect. There is stress. We sometimes don't see eye to eye. Still we strive to maintain the love that so many of you have in your own homes.
No Cliques. Drama that is only ON the stage. Family. THIS is Mariner Drama.
